| The
Adat Chaim Congregational School opened its doors in the fall of 1999. We
are truly thrilled by this new venture in our synagogue’s development.
Since 1993, Adat Chaim had been very fortunate to have benefited from the
guidance and support of the Beth Tfiloh Community School, who, in the true
spirit of “Klal Yisroel” administered their Hebrew School in our
building. Then, in 1999, we were absolutely ready to be on our own, and
were delighted about the success of our new school !
The Adat Chaim Congregational School was the first new Conservative school to open in the Baltimore area in many years. Following the example of the other excellent Conservative Hebrew Schools in the area, our goal is to provide a meaningful, and traditional Jewish education for our children. Adat Chaim, however, took a very original approach in the creation of our new Congregational School. Under the guidance of The Council on Jewish Education, and the leadership of Our Rabbi and our Director, Janet Ring, the Adat Chaim Congregational School was developed by our parents to meet the needs of their children, and their entire family. This group of dedicated parents was composed of experienced educators in both secular and Jewish education, including those who specialize in preschool, elementary, middle school, and special needs programs. We are very excited about the our Congregational School. For the parents at Adat Chaim, we saw the opportunity to create something very fresh and unique. Our curriculum, developed step-by-step, reflects the input of our own Hebrew School experiences, as well as the needs, values, and interests of today’s Jewish families. Together with the guidance of our parent educators, and the enthusiastic leadership of our Rabbi, and Director, we are quite certain that the Adat Chaim Congregational School will continue to be something very special. It is truly our school, created by our parents, for our children, and will, we are certain, build our children into the future Jewish leaders of the next generation.
