Sisterhood
is not just an organization, but a special place where
friendships are made and extended families are formed. Our Sisterhood is a
dynamic and enthusiastic group, where women share common interests,
concerns, and ideas that are part of our Jewish experiences.
A primary goal of our
Sisterhood is to support our shul in a variety of
ways, while providing a social, caring environment. In addition to monthly
meetings, we provide catering services in the shul as a fund-raising
project. We also have a small Judaica shop. We organized a needlework
project that had 13 women sharing the stitching of a wall-hanging that
decorates one side of our Bimah.
Adat Chaim's Sisterhood is
affiliated with the Women's League for
Conservative Judaism, and its Seaboard Branch. We support the Jewish
Theological
Seminary through donations to Women's Leagues' Torah Fund and support
Masorti Movement (Conservative Judaism in Israel).
Sisterhood looks forward to
supporting our congregation and Conservative
Judaism in the next decade and beyond.
